Gandhinagar Mahanagarpalika General Assembly meeting was held today at Pandit Dindayal Bhawan, Mahanagarpalika under the chairmanship of Honorable Mayor of Gandhinagar Mahanagarpalika Hiteshbhai Makwana. In which various works were unanimously ratified and approved to accelerate the overall and continuous development of Gandhinagar and to increase the convenience and well-being of the citizens.

On this occasion, Mayor said that Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation is committed for the overall development of the city. Important decisions have been made in today’s meeting. In order to benefit the citizens of Gandhinagar and to increase the revenue of the Municipal Corporation, the proposal to extend the time limit of 10% refund for advance property tax payers from 01 June 2023 to 30 June 2023 in the financial year 2023-24 has been approved.

Also, the services of female health work in the health sector are considered as an essential service in terms of waiting list of twice the category wise candidates for the posts directly related to health. And since their work is directly related to public health, there is an urgent need to fill the vacancies. Earlier, the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation has given permission to operate twice the size of the waiting list for recruitment in health.

CNCD of Gandhinagar Metropolitan Municipality. Apart from the work of catching all the stray cattle in the municipality area and keeping them at the cattle box and sending them to Panjarapol, the branch is also mainly doing the work. Considering the increasing work load of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation and future operations, the organizational structure of the CNCD department has been approved. Further, the proposal to provide the benefit of Death and Retirement Graduate to the official employees of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation has been approved.

Under Section 41 (1) of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act 1976, approval has been given to send the Chief Town Planner Mr. Gujarat State for consultation regarding the extent of Draft Town Planning Plan No. 41 (Pethapur). Further, the Mayor added that under Section 30 (1) of The Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporation Act 1947, the proposal for the formation of seven special committees in the Gandhinagar Metropolitan Municipality was approved. Including Public Health Committee, Town Planning and Estate Committee, Sanitation Sewerage and Street Light Committee, Horticulture Committee, Women and Child Development Welfare Committee, Taxation and Other Revenue Committee and Construction Committee. This work will lead to administrative decentralization and will increase the convenience of the citizens of Gandhinagar. Thus all the above mentioned subjects will be unanimously endorsed and the overall development of Gandhinagar city will be boosted.
