There are several sand leases in Bharuch and Narmada districts, and the locals are angry when overloaded trucks from the leases turn the roads into disrepair. As the road of Sisodara village of Narmada has become dilapidated, people have presented to the collector with the demand that the lease should be terminated and the road should be repaired.

The villagers of Sisodara have submitted to the Collector of Rajpipala to stop the leases running in the rivers before the monsoon starts from June 1. The villagers have said in their submission that sand mining is being carried out indiscriminately by continuing the lease of sand in their village even during monsoon. About 40 to 50 tons of sand are loaded in sand trucks. Roads have become bad due to overloaded trucks.

Rajpipla to Seesodara and Seesodara to Kandraoj road has become very bad. Sisodara to Kandaraj Road is constructed under Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana. The capacity of which is about 10 tons. Trucks weighing about 40 to 50 tons are passing over it. Due to which the road has become bumpy. Despite heavy vehicle movement and indiscriminate sand mining, no concrete action is taken, the sand mafias have become unfettered. Farmers’ fields are also located on this road, the crops are being damaged due to flying soil and sand.

As the road is narrow, there is a problem to load bananas from the fields into the vehicles. So, there is a demand that the lease should be stopped and the road should be built anew. If the road is not built, Gandhi has threatened to protest. It may be mentioned here that there has been a controversy for a long time due to sand lease in Sisodara village and people have been fighting for years to stop the lease.
