In a village adjacent to the Madhya Pradesh border in Dahod district, an incident of murder came to light, which was also blamed on the police. A 38-year-old husband gave his wife a shocking death to get the family sister-in-law. Not only this, the killer husband made such a plan of robbery to escape punishment that once even the police started scratching their heads, but it is said that sin cries from the rooftops, something similar happened in this case as well.
what happened
38-year-old Shailesh Damor, a resident of Dholakhakhra village in Dahod district, used to come home on a bike with his wife Lalita. At night, robbers struck in the forest a little away from Dholakhakhara village. Husband Shailesh Damor was beaten to death by four robbers, while his wife Lalita was robbed to death. Shailesh Damor called his friend for help. This incident which took place in a quiet forest area was initially thought to be a robbery, but the police investigation revealed a fact which no one could have imagined.

Divya Bhaskar spoke to PSI GB Bharwad of Chaklia Police Station to find out the facts of the case, which revealed a different angle of the case.
Investigating officer PSI Bharwad said Shailesh Damor is around 38 years old. He does small and large contract work in Ankleshwar. He has 4 children including two sons and a daughter. The age of the eldest daughter is 17 years. He got married to Lalitaben 20 years ago. Apart from those six members, Shailesh’s parents, brothers-in-law all live together.
‘Solve it however you like’
PSI Bharwad said that Shailesh Damor had gone to Santrampur to pick up his child on the morning of 3rd. He returned to his native village Dholakhakhara at approximately 3 o’clock. Shailesh had an affair with Rasika, a family sister-in-law. Both had pre-planned. The family sister-in-law Rasika Damor used to tell Shailesh that ‘Your wife is disturbing us. Solve it however you like.’

Shailesh Damor went to Malpur village with his brother-in-law along with his wife Lalita around 3 pm on the same day. He left there at around five o’clock in the evening and went to Tandi village with another brother. Stayed there till late and ate. At that time, his girlfriend and family sister-in-law Rasika got a call at seven o’clock in the evening saying ‘what have you done?’ Then Shailesh said that ‘I will finish it today.’ After that, around 8.30-9 pm, both the husband and wife left from there on bikes to come to Dholakhakhara. 2 km before Dholakhakhara village there is a forest area called Mahudi. On reaching the main road there, Shailesh jumped off his running bike, while his wife Lalita fell into the drain along with the bike.

Shailesh had murder on his head
Shailesh thought that his wife must have died by falling into the drain with the bike and when Shailesh Damor went to the drain to see this, his wife Lalita Hemhem stood up. Shailesh was shocked to see this. Immediately he rushed to his wife Lalita. Shailesh was on the verge of murder, he strangled his wife right there and removed her throat. Not only this, Shailesh created the whole story of the robbery to fool the police after the murder. For that he called his friend and said that ‘I have been beaten and robbed here. My ear booties and my wife’s chain and dagger have been robbed. I am not well. I’m about to faint. You come immediately.’ After that, his friend immediately reached the spot with a storm car. Seeing the lights of a friend’s car coming for help, Shailesh pretended to faint and fell asleep on the road. Later, friends took him to the hospital.
The doctor said, robbery with murder has happened
PSI Bharwad says doctor from Zydus Hospital is my friend. The previous day also there was a murder in Dahod, so the doctor informed me about this robbery with murder case. At that time my night patrol was going on. I was relieved. Immediately my SP Balram Meena, DySP, PI of LCB and I got active as soon as the incident was reported. DySP sir reached the hospital. I immediately reached the spot. Inspected there. It is a whole forest area. We searched all night, but without success. When the victim and injured Shaileshbhai Damor regained consciousness, no other information could be obtained.
There was doubt since the night
I asked the doctor friend in the night that what type of injury Shailesh Damor has? He said that the woman was strangled to death. Then the doubt arose that there is a story in this. Then kept a watch on her husband. Technical information the next day. CDR etc information obtained. The police team put all their efforts to detect the crime. The superior officers also said to detect the crime by evening. The next day Shailesh regained consciousness. Then he was interrogated from evening till late night and he broke down and confessed the crime.

When Shailesh was questioned, he initially said, ‘Sir, I have no idea. I have been robbed. My earlobe is broken. I have no idea. I was devastated. caught me My missus was strangled and robbed.’ Regarding the robbery, he said that there were four people at first. The police questioned that in defense ‘You did not do anything? ‘So say that ‘My two hands were caught.’
What was the primary stage?
There is a whole forest and tribal area around the scene. A bike was found lying there. Vegetables including garlic were also scattered there. At first glance it seemed that the incident had taken place, nothing was forthcoming as Lalitaben was dead, while Shailesh was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in an unconscious state. Also, Chaklia region is adjacent to Madhya Pradesh. The surrounding villages including neighboring Balwasa are all heady and robbery prone villages of MP, so initially we started the investigation from the angle that this would be a robbery incident.
The plan did not succeed, the wife threw a stone on her face
Shailesh Damor chose Mawdi area for wife murder because it was close to his hometown. When he reached the Mawdi area, he jumped on the running bike, thinking that his wife Lalita would fall and die. When he jumped off the bike, he was hit on both hands and the bruises were peeled off. But his wife fell into a big pit like a drain with the bike, but she did not die. Nothing much happened. There was a distance of tens of feet between Shailesh and his wife. When the wife stood up, Shailesh directly strangled her. Then, in self-defence, Lalita threw a stone at Shailesh on the left side of the mouth, injuring him.
Who is Rasika Damore?
Rasika with whom Shailesh had an affair is the wife of the family uncle’s son. Rasika, who is around 36 years old, also has children. He lives in the laundry room.

5 years affair and quarrels at home
In the interrogation, Shailesh has admitted that his affair has been going on for 5 years. Rasika’s husband also knew about the affair. There were quarrels in his house. On the other hand, when Lalitaben also came to know about the affair, fights were going on in Shailesh’s house. Both of them wanted to get married. Rasika told Shailesh that they often fight. So you delete it. If you dispose of it, I will come to your house.’
The duo has been booked under Sections 302, 201 and 120b, for murder, destruction of evidence and conspiracy. Besides his booty, Shailesh has tried to destroy the evidence by hiding his wife’s jewellery, etc. After killing his wife, Shailesh left the jewelry in a Khakhara tree a short distance away. After the incident, we took a sniffer dog, so the jewelry was found the same day.
Feigned unconsciousness for 10-12 hours
Initially, Shailesh did not confess to the crime, but we had technical evidence. We told him – ‘Tell what is true.’ Then he mentally broke down and confessed everything himself. Before that the previous day when his friends brought him to the hospital he started fainting drama from around 10 pm and the next morning we asked the doctor ‘what happened to him?’ The doctor said that he has no such injury. The patient himself seems to be playing a bit too much,’ as the doctor took all the reports including the MRI. Meanwhile, his body continued to move. Once he turned the ball. Even when I saw that, I realized that this play does it. Meanwhile, Shailesh also got an idea that the police are on to me. Finally around 12 noon he woke up.

What were the challenges in the case?
First thought came in our mind that what to do if this is a robbery? Because this is a forest area. Understaffed, dark, plus it’s a hilly area. In which direction to move? However, in the night itself, the idea came that this seems to be pre-planning.
