After Cyclone Biporjoy hit the coast of Gujarat, Valsad district was lashed with heavy winds and rain. The 28 coastal villages of Valsad district had less incremental impact. Electricity poles were downed in some areas. In some areas, high-speed winds uprooted trees and affected nearby power lines. Roads were blocked due to fallen trees in many areas. After being informed about the incident, the team of Nagar Palila and Disaster Department as well as Forest Department took great pains to remove the fallen trees on the road to obstruct the traffic. Efforts were made to normalize road traffic by removing trees to obstruct traffic.
Due to the impact of Cyclone Biporjoy, the weather in Valsad district has seen a reversal since last week. For the last one week, the administration of Valsad district was seen gearing up to meet the possible impact of Cyclone Biporjoy. Valsad district was also lashed with heavy winds and heavy rain after Cyclone Biporjoy hit the coast of Gujarat. Due to which some villages of Valsad district were affected including falling of trees, breaking of electricity poles. The local people living in the area reported the incident to the district disaster control room and the nearby municipal area and power company helpline as well as the police department.
When the Valsad district administration came to know about the incident, the power company teams were on the job to remove the power poles and trees lying on the road and restore power supply to the local people. Power supply was affected in as many as 15 areas. In Valsad district, the teams of the disaster department and fire department of the municipality reached immediately and tried to restore normal traffic by removing the part of the tree that obstructed the traffic.
