After a long break, it is raining again in Ahmedabad. Scattered rain fell on Thursday morning after Satsati was called. Then twenty four hours later it is raining heavily again. Most areas of the city including SG Highway, Bhopal, Prahladnagar, Shyamal Char Rasta, Manekbagh, Satellite, Jamalpur, Alicebridge, Lal Darwaza are experiencing heavy rains. East Ahmedabad was flooded on Thursday. Then, on Friday, West Ahmedabad was flooded.
Satellite, 6.5 inches in Prahladnagar, 2.5 inches in the city
Ahmedabad city has been continuously raining since 6 pm. About two and a half inches of rain has been recorded in three hours. In the western part of the city, Meghraja has created chaos. Jodhpur, Satellite, Shyamal, Prahladnagar and Anandnagar areas received up to 6.5 inches of rain. Areas including Bhopal, Thaltej, Sola, Science City, Vastrapur, Sindhubhan, Pakwan Char Rasta, SG Highway, Gurdwara, Usmanpura, Wadaj, Jamalpur, Laldarwaja, Khamasa received about four inches of rain. Areas including Paldi, Vasana, Gota, Vejalpur, Sarkhej, Ranip, New Ranip, Subhash Bridge have received about three inches of rain.
Pre-monsoon operations pole opened
After the eastern area of Ahmedabad city, the municipal corporation system has reopened today due to torrential rain in the western area. Amidst the talk of premonsoon operations, areas including Prahladnagar, Shyamal Char Rasta, Anandnagar, which are considered posh areas of the city, were flooded. As part of the operation, it was claimed that the catchpit was cleaned twice and thrice by the officials of the engineer department of North West Zone and West Zone. But the water has not been drained as quickly as it should be. Due to which people have to face difficulties.
Heavy traffic jam in areas including SG Highway
Scenes of heavy traffic jam have been created in areas including SG Highway of Ahmedabad. At the time of leaving work in the evening, many vehicle drivers were trapped due to torrential rain in various areas of the city.
Water filled everywhere
For three hours it has rained heavily in the western part of the city, after lashing the eastern part, it has rained in the western part. Traffic jams were created on Rajpath Club, Karnavati Club, Bodakdev, Sindhubhan, ISKCON Bridge due to heavy rain on SG Highway of the city. Drainage work is going on by the Municipal Corporation near Karnavati Club Char Rasta and traffic jam has occurred where there is heavy rain. Heavy rains have turned the city into a bat. People are stuck on the road while going home from work. Motorists are facing a lot of trouble as the rainwater flows back onto the road. While traffic control workers were also facing difficulties.
A significant increase in the surface area of demos in most of the state
1 to 11 inches of universal rainfall has been recorded in 224 talukas of the state in the last 24 hours. Junagadh recorded the highest rainfall of 10.5 inches. 9.4 inches of rain forced road closures in Tapi district. Due to the rain, the condition is being seen in some places like meghmehr and in some places like kaher. 5 villages in Rajkot district were disconnected due to heavy rain. Due to the rains, most of the dams in the state are witnessing a significant rise in water level.
