The academic department of Gujarat Technical University does not seem to be running like a technical university. Talks about the clumsy administration of the university are the talk of the day, yet the latest academic calendar put out by the university is becoming a laughing stock in the social media group for GTU as the academic calendar has announced the schedule of all courses except technical courses despite being a technical university.

GTU’s Academic Calendar Many Errors
Despite repeated representations by the faculty of the Government Engineering College, there is no where to make an academic calendar. So many mistakes have been left in the academic calendar announced by GTU hastily. Even a common student is questioning whether the academic calendar announced by the university can be called an academic calendar. It is clear that the diploma and degree courses that the university is built for, have been completely cut off. New session for different courses of GTU will start from July 3.

More than one lakh students were confused
There is no mention of regular degree engineering in the public calendar. There is also no mention of one to six semesters of Diploma Engineering. Similarly Master of Engineering is also excluded from this. The Academic Department is assuming that the formal obligation of preparing the academic calendar is fulfilled by merely indicating the date of commencement of the term. The date of the end of the session of this calendar has also been mentioned or the date of the semester exam or final exam of the students has been mentioned. Even after two years of corona epidemic, the university authorities cannot come into regular mode due to which more than one lakh students are confused. Students cannot plan any vacation trip or any other planning.
