Govt allocates Rs 443 crore to reduce tax on diesel for mechanized boats, Minister Patel urges to provide scheme benefits to fishermen

A review meeting of the Fisheries Department was held at Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Raghavji Patel. In which Minister Patel said that the government has made a total provision of more than Rs.1418 crores with an increase of 61 percent in the current year’s financial budget for the fisheries department. The state government has allocated a sum of Rs.443 crore only for tax relief on high speed diesel oil used in mechanized boats. Apart from this, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana has made a provision of Rs.155 crore to reach every beneficiary. Said that and urged all the officials to extend the benefits of every scheme for the beneficiaries related to fisheries to every fisherman brother and sister.

Informed the minister about the planning
In this meeting, the officials of the fisheries department informed the minister about the special activities of the department, information about welfare schemes for fishermen, achievements and plans for the next year through presentations. Apart from this, some questions related to the implementation of various schemes in their districts were raised by the officials of Fisheries Department present from all the districts of the state and a special discussion was held.

The Fisheries Department is constantly striving
On this occasion, Fisheries Minister Raghavji Patel encouraged the officers of the department and said that the Department of Fisheries is constantly striving to bring the benefits of various schemes implemented by the State Government to raise the living standards of millions of fishermen involved in the state. It is necessary for all officers and employees of the department to work with team spirit so that the beneficiaries in the fisheries sector get benefits in a speedy and transparent manner.
