The incidence of online fraud is continuously increasing. Under which the cybercrime police of Rajkot city investigated the different applications received and checked the bank accounts of the applicants and froze the accounts and returned a total amount of more than 85,000 to four different applicants.
25 lakhs lottery has been held and the money has been collected
Kishanbhai Buddhabhai Nandashiya, living in Rajkot city, received a fake audio clip on WhatsApp from an unknown number saying that he had won a lottery of 25 lakhs from KBC. To get the money, the applicant was asked to transfer the money to the Samawala’s account. So in the temptation of getting 25 lakhs, the applicant first gave 2000, then 4000, then 5000, and then 14,300 later. 10,000 after making a total transfer of 35,300. On 8th September 2022, the police applied to the cyber crime police station to investigate into whose account the applicant’s money went and freeze the account of the applicant. Returned.
Fraud was committed by hacking the applicant’s phone
Ashwinbhai Harjivanbhai Kothari, who lives in Rajkot city, received a call from an unknown number on his mobile phone and asked him to increase the credit card amount limit. After downloading an application called Anydesk to increase the limit, he hacked the applicant’s phone and withdrew 21,835 from his credit card, which was reported to be a fraud. On 12th May 2023, the police applied to the cyber crime police and investigated into whose account the money went to the applicant and froze the account in which the money went and returned the money to the applicant today.
While updating the credit card, the money was withdrawn from the account
Dharmeshbhai Chandubhai Sisangiya residing in Rajkot city received a call from an unknown number and obtained all the bank details from the applicant to update the credit card and get more points and withdrew a total of Rs 20,000 from the applicant’s account. According to the police, after investigating into whose account the money of the applicant went, the account in which the money went was frozen and the money of the applicant was returned today.
The temptation to buy cheap airport lost money
Vishalbhai Mukundabhai Kothari, who lives in Rajkot city, saw an advertisement in his Facebook page in which Rs. 4000 was an ad for the iPhone Airpods, which enticed customers to pay with a QR code and withdraw Rs. 8251.39 was withdrawn, then on 9th February 2023, the police applied at the cyber crime police station and investigated into whose account the money of the applicant had gone and froze the account of the account in which the money had gone and returned the money of the applicant today.
