In Abrama of Valsad city, the problem of disposal of rain water and rising lake water is feared to become serious during monsoon. There is fear that more than 5 thousand local residents of Bhandari Paliya society area have to face a lot of trouble during the rainy season. In this matter, the member of Ward No. 11 has offered to resolve the dispute before the Chief Officer.

Amidst the ongoing exercise to drain water during heavy rains in Valsad town, the newly constructed road in Ward No.11 of Abrama Zone has been strengthened by adding 5 feet, but there is no way to drain water from this road to the nearby pond during monsoon. As the facility is not available, there is a feeling of anxiety among the residents.

In order to resolve this issue, the residents of the society raised their concerns before the member of ward no.11, Zakir Pathan, and he raised this issue with the Chief Officer and emphasized the need to lay at least 5 drains for water drainage. A road has been constructed in this area but no arrangement has been made for rainwater drainage. It has been demanded to complete the works within the time limit and to solve the problem by inspecting the site and not cleaning the drains of the springs park properly.

Precautions before flooding
Zakir Pathan, ward member of Valsad’s Abramana municipality, told the chief officer that a new road has been constructed here with a 5-foot bridge but there is no system to drain the water from the lake in monsoons. Therefore, there is a great need to take precautionary measures immediately before rainwater floods people’s houses during the days of heavy rains.
