Heavy rains in Junagadh on Saturday have created a lot of desolation and also spread a lot of dirt in many areas. Hence, an exercise has been carried out by the municipal administration to prevent the spread of the disease in the city.

In addition to 700 cleaning staff of Junagadh Municipality, Jamnagar, Rajkot Municipal Corporation, 300 cleaning staff of municipalities including Palitana, Babra are engaged in cleaning work. 200 bags of insecticide have been sprayed along with disposal of garbage and dirt.

On Sunday, 200 tonnes of garbage was collected and disposed of by equipment including 4 JCBs, 8 tractors. Apart from this, dewatering operations have been carried out by the Municipal Water Works Branch and other municipalities and 15 dewatering machines of the Irrigation Department to drain the low-lying areas in the city due to heavy rains. Along with this, the vehicles stuck in the water have been moved to a safe place by 11 JCBs. A system of chlorination has been set up in private wells and bores.
