100 domestic flights from different sectors take off daily at Ahmedabad airport, but 20 daily flights were delayed due to heavy fog in winter. In the last one month, the schedule of more than 600 flights has been disrupted at the Ahmedabad airport. Flights from the airport have been continuously delayed for over a month, mostly from sectors like Chandigarh, Jammu, Varanasi, Jaipur, Pune, Lucknow, Belagam. All these flights are delayed by an average of one to four hours. An average of 70 flights were canceled in a month due to low visibility in winters, including Varanasi, Jaisalmer, Bagdogra routes. 20 flights from Ahmedabad to Jaipur and Chandigarh in a month have also been diverted due to bad weather.
20 flights a day were delayed due to heavy winter fog
ILS Cat-3 system remains in place in Delhi: Flights are delayed due to fog, but the Instrument Landing System (ILS) Cat-3 system is available at the Delhi airport runway. So planes can take off and land in very low visibility. Pilots of each airline are given special training. Even if there is a low visibility of 70 feet on the runway for landing and 150 feet for takeoff in Delhi, there is no problem.
