Morbi20 minutes ago
After the proposal to make Morbi a municipality years ago, the government has recently given serious consideration to declare Morbi as a corporation and recently held a meeting with office bearers and sarpanches of 20 nearby villages under the chairmanship of the collector. Then the Sarpanch asked to hold a meeting with the villagers to take their opinion.
Hence officials are taking turns meeting village to village and getting the opinion to join Morbi if it becomes a municipality. In which the villagers of Shanala, which is a short distance from Morbi, while meeting with the officials, the villagers have declared their firm decision not to join Morbi Municipality if it is formed.
Reasons behind Shanala village not being included in Manpa
Shanala village, which is very close to Morbi and is known for the temple of Shakti Mataji, was merged into the municipality years ago by the then officials asking to make Morbi Mahapalika. Then the municipality did not pay any attention to this Shanala village and instead of doing new development works by keeping a passive attitude for 5 years, the development of this village was stopped without solving the problems of primary facilities.
Then a few years after the formation of the Manapa, the concerned system excluded this village from the municipality and after the formation of an independent Gram Panchayat, good things have been done in the village. That is why Shanala village has clearly refused this time as soon as the proposal to merge into the municipality came.
Bitter experience has taught us
Village leader Chatrasinh Gunumbha Jhala said that in the past, after asking to form a municipality, the municipality could not produce anything. was in the municipality. Many lights were switched off in Shanala Bypass, village then. The municipality has created a dilemma in place of the facility. So now the village is not going to get any benefit by merging with the municipality. All services including light are well provided by Gram Panchayat.
The small men of the village unable to pay taxes
Citizen Kirtibhai Rabari says. If we merge in the municipality, common people in the village are not able to pay the municipal taxes, now we are all aware of the plight of latiplots coming to the municipality and paying more taxes.
Blow the burnt buttermilk and drink it: Sarpanch
Sarpanch Sonalben Bawarwa said, “It is a matter of blowing milk and drinking it.” Earlier, when it was merged into the municipality, no basic facilities were provided. A valveman was not allotted to release the water. We all the villagers used to get water when they paid the salary together, now we don’t want to get into any other problems. Now we are not interested in creating another dilemma by joining the Manap.
