Biparjoy Cyclone has been predicted by the Meteorological Department. A meeting was held at the district collector’s office in Khambhaliya with officials of all the departments of the district chaired by district collector Ashok Sharma for necessary preparations regarding the possible storm.

In this meeting, the Collector got the details of the preparations made by various departments of the district regarding the storm and rain forecast during it. The District Collector instructed the concerned officials to take necessary precautions to prevent the fishermen from going to sea. As part of vigilance, hoardings should be taken down, immediate reporting of any casualty or loss in any taluk of the district and staffing at the taluk level control room as well as provision of shelters for possible forecast reference evacuation in villages of all taluks near and near the sea coast in the district and any goods or property. If there is any other damage, immediate site inspection is done. Acting as per government rules, officers were instructed not to leave the headquarters without permission.

The power system was also asked to maintain uninterrupted power supply in government hospitals and if any power pole collapses, to restore power supply immediately by erecting power pole. Today on 11/06/23 due to change in the weather, a warning signal number four has been installed at Okha port. With that all the teams have got their stand. Notably, the Collector is directly supervising all aspects. And the system is well equipped to avoid any kind of problem. As the weather changes, the flag on the sikhar of the Jagat Mandir is flown at half-mast and a yajna is being performed by the Brahmins of Dwarka to calm the storm. A special prayer has been offered to Lord Dwarkadhish by the Varadar Pujari of the Jagat Mandir to calm the storm.
