After the announcement of the election of the board of directors of the leading Sabarkantha District Central Co-operative Bank of Sabarkantha and Aravalli districts, on Monday, after the election officer verified the forms, 10 candidates including the current chairman of Sabarkantha Bank were found and a total of 55 candidates’ nomination forms were cancelled. Several debates have started in cooperative politics due to the decision taken by the election officer during the hearing of the objections presented regarding the nomination form before the Sabarkantha Bank election.

The details regarding this are that after the announcement of the election of 18 seats of the Board of Directors of Sabarkantha Bank, there was a heat in the cooperative politics. On the last day of form filling, 173 nomination forms were filled from all departments. However, some potential candidates who wanted to contest the election filed a repetition in the High Court citing other reasons including electoral roll. However, in the meantime, former chairman Mahesh Amichandbhai Patel, including MD, who wants to contest the election after form verification in the Sabarkantha Bank election on Monday. The nomination forms of Pankaj Narsinghbhai Patel, Vice Chairman Rajendrasingh Naharsingh Bhati, former Himmatnagar MLA and Director Rajendrasingh Chavda have been cancelled. On Monday, the election officer canceled 55 nomination forms and announced the list of valid candidates after verifying the forms.

The Election Officer has strictly followed some rules of the Reserve Bank during the verification of the nomination papers and has canceled the nomination forms of the Chairman and Directors who are enjoying sole benefit in Sabarkantha Bank without any effort. Then an election war will be played between 118 valid candidates to become a director in the district’s leading Sabarkantha Bank, which is run on a cooperative basis. However, after the nomination form is withdrawn, which valid candidate will be given mandate by BJP. Then the true election picture will be clear.

Ravi Patel, who has nominated from Himmatnagar division as a director in Sabarkantha Bank, raised an objection two days ago. Then there were arguments by the lawyer and today the election officer said that according to the RBI guidelines a person who has held office for more than eight years cannot contest again. According to the law, the election officer invalidated the nomination papers of 10 directors including the current chairman.
