The year 2023 is being celebrated as Millet Year by the Government of India. In which Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives the most emphasis on the production of millet grain and its use in food. The whole world is promoting millet (coarse rice). Then, for the last five years, farmers have been producing this millet grain Morian, Kodari, Bunty, Nagli, etc. at Dadiyapada. This grain was cooked by Sunil Trivedi and his team from Green Hub Foundation, Ahmedabad. Which gradually made more than 80 percent of the farmers to cook this millet grain, now the grain is ripe but if a big millet processing unit is built, the production will increase and with the support of such organizations, the farmers will get better price of grain.

A joint initiative of Navsari Agricultural University and Green Hub Foundation “Millet Processing Unit” was inaugurated by District Panchayat President Paryushaben Vasava at Dadiyapada Agricultural Centre. In which the Director of Extension Education Dr. N.M. Chauhan, Chancellor Dr. Z.P. Patel, Dr. P.D. Verma, Dr. Digvijay Singh, Dr. Meenakshi Trivedi, Sunil Trivedi of Green Hub Foundation, State BJP Adijati Morcha Vice President Shankar Vasava, other leaders and a large number of women farmers were present. Machines including vacuum pack machine, de-husking, dehusking machine, de-stoner gravel removal machine are currently installed in this “Millet Processing Unit”. Sunil Trivedi said that in the next few days, machines will be brought for making paua, semolina and other processing from millets.

In this regard, Paryushaben Vasava said that instead of junk food, Indians of today’s new generation are eating traditional nutritious grains, so he held a dinner party of dishes made of millet for all the ministers and MP members in the Parliament House. Whatever the program, Millet recommends keeping the recipes specific. Then I am proud that my farmer brothers and sisters of Dedyapada are again producing millet grains Kodari, Moriya, Bunty, Nagli. It has special contributions from Green Hub Foundation and Sunil Trivedi’s team. If there is more production, all the farmers just grow organic millet, then I believe Dediyapada taluk will start exporting millet. Banana will become more profitable than sugarcane.
