On July 26, 2008, the city of Ahmedabad was rocked by a series of bomb blasts. In which 54 people died and more than 200 were injured. The court convicted 49 of the total 78 accused under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention)). Out of these 49 convicts, 1 accused assisted in the investigation and was acquitted. In this case, the court acquitted a total of 29 accused on the basis of suspicion. In this entire case, the court convicted five including two brothers Kayamuddin Kapadia and Rafiuddin Kapadia of Vadodara and sentenced them to death.
