Narmad Sahitya Sabha is an 83 year old organization and the first medal was awarded by the organization to Jyotindra Dave. Stakeholders are protesting as to how the award can be given only to the meritoriousness of the organization. When the vice-president of the organization was called to inquire about this matter, he did not respond.

Due to the opposition, managing committee members Gaurang Thakkar and Gunwant Thakkar submitted their resignations on WhatsApp. Both mentioned that they resigned as they could not devote time to the organization.
