- Complaint Against Former Sarpanch, Present Sarpanch And Talati Of Solsumba Gram Panchayat Of Umargam, Disclosure Of Auction Being Conducted Without Permission

The former Sarpanch of Gau Charan land owned by Solsumba Gram Panchayat of Umargam taluka of Valsad district illegally built 58 raw shops in the land of Gau Charan without obtaining administrative approval by making wrong resolutions of the Panchayat. Rs.3.50 crore was recovered from the traders by auctioning the shops. Instead of depositing the proceeds from the auction of shops in the Gram Panchayat’s own fund account, a separate account was opened in a private bank and all the money was kept as FD. The whole matter came to light when the traders who got the shops in the auction came to the attention of the gram panchayat and taluka panchayats, seeking refund of the money paid during the auction of the shop. Regarding the incident, the TDO after completing all the investigations filed a 420 complaint against the former sarpanch, present sarpanch and Talati of Solasumba Gram Panchayat. The Umargam police have registered a complaint and are conducting further investigation.
Solasumba village panchayat of Umargam taluk of Valsad district has become a major hub of controversy. The former sarpanch of the gram panchayat had decided to build shops of raw shed leaves in the panchayat land and give it to the traders and make a market by auctioning it. As many as 58 crude shops were built on the land. The shops which were auctioned by the former sarpanch raised a total income of 3.50 crores for the panchayat. On inspection after the traders got the shops, it was found that the whole place. Gau Charan was speaking in the ground. And on further investigation it was found that the former sarpanch had constructed the shops illegally without obtaining administrative approval from the competent authorities. So, since the traders filed an application to the Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat and the TDO, the whole matter came to the attention of the TDO, as their shop was set up illegally by the Panchayat.
The TDO immediately assigned the necessary investigation. In which former sarpanch Amit Manilal Patel, current sarpanch Baldev Jasubhai Surti and Talati Sudhir Praveen Patel were involved, Umargam police station filed a complaint. Umargam police registered a complaint and conducted further investigation.
