According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, Cyclone Biporjoy is likely to reach Kutch on June 14 and 15. Due to the impact of this storm, there is a possibility of rainfall with heavy winds in Saurashtra besides Kutch. Regarding this, various ministers have been assigned the responsibility of different districts by the state government. In this context, Minister-in-charge Raghavji Patel visited Rajkot today. Talking to the media after a meeting with officials of the Municipal Corporation, Police and PGVCL as well as the administration here, he said that the priority of the government is to cause minimum damage in the district, and the system is fully equipped for this.

According to in-charge minister Raghavji Patel, today a coordination meeting was held at the district collector’s office regarding Biporjoy cyclone. Rajkot District Collectorate, Municipal Corporation, City Police and District Police along with senior officials of PGVCL were present in this meeting. And gave details of preparations regarding the storm. I am happy to say that all systems are now fully capable of weathering this storm. Also, preparations have been made to reverse this calamity in one go.

He further said that PGVCL systems suffer the most damage in storms and rains. Necessary suggestions have been made after reviewing the preparation of PGVCL. In which PGVCL has come out to be acting keeping in mind the previous mistakes. And now fully prepared to operate in view of the storm situation. Along with the government system, various voluntary organizations of Rajkot are also in alert mode. And all together it is the government’s priority to minimize the damage in the district in this natural calamity. And he expressed satisfaction that the system is functioning accordingly.
