Bathing Yatra Festival of Lord Jagannath, Baldev and Sister Subhadraji was celebrated at ISKCON Temple Kathwada on Sunday 4th June 2023. “When King Indradyum established Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadraji. He started this Sanna Yatra. This day is considered as the birth day of Lord Jagannath. This festival is held on the full-moon day of Jyeshtha month”.
108 Bathed by Kumbha
This festival was celebrated with great pomp in the ISKCON temple. The program started at 5 pm in which the Lord was bathed with 108 kumbhas filled with water scented like kesuda, sandalwood. Along with this, Kirtan was also performed by the devotees to please Lord Jagannath.
He was quarantined for 14 days
It is said that Lord Jagannath gets fever due to excessive bathing and is quarantined for the next 14 days and subjected to various potions and decoctions. The value of these devotees is love for God. Then on the day of Ashadi Bija, the Lord recovers and moves around the city sitting in a chariot to give darshan to the devotees.
