The fire department reached the spot after a part of the dilapidated building collapsed in Hathi Phalia

With the onset of rains, dilapidated buildings in the city are proving dangerous. In different parts of the city, there is an increasing incidence of collapse of old houses during the rainy season. A fire department team reached the spot after a dilapidated building collapsed in Hathi Paliya of Jhapa Bazar.

The building in Surat’s Jhapa Bazar was in a dangerous condition. The fire department was running as the building collapsed amid the rainy weather in the city. Early in the morning, the front part of the ground plus two storied building collapsed. Debris of a leaf shed had fallen on top. Due to which part of the first and second floors also fell down. Due to this, the bike parked below was damaged. The fire department team reached the spot and removed the debris.

Fire officer Mahesh Patel said that our team reached the spot as soon as the call was received. As the building was very dilapidated, the front part of the building fell down along with the sheet shed. No one lived in the house. No casualties have been reported. An elderly woman was sleeping in the attic of a house. But fortunately they did not suffer any casualties. Only one moped was damaged. The condition of the buildings around the collapsed building is good. Today the building has collapsed it was very old and dilapidated.
