A mosquito-borne epidemic has reared its head during the monsoon rainy season in Patan. During the period of June and July, more than 1000 OPDs of various epidemics including viral fever are being registered in Patan Civil Hospital. At that time, due to the mosquito-borne epidemic, heavy attrition of patients is being seen in the Patan Civil Hospital.

After the activation of Southwest Monsoon in the entire state including Patan district, the infestation of mosquitoes has increased due to the rainy season in Patan, due to which the cases of mosquito-borne epidemics are increasing day by day. Patan General Civil Hospital is registering more than 1000 OPDs of viral fever diseases including Malaria, Chikungunya, Cold, Cough and Dengue.

During the period of June and July, more than 35 thousand different diseases have been laboratory tested in which 3 positive malaria cases have been registered against 1416 malaria testing, while 5 cases of dengue and more than 800 cases of viral fever disease have been registered. Apart from this, a heavy attrition of patients is being seen in Patansival Hospital due to various cases of other diseases. During the last one and a half months, malaria and typhoid cases have also been reported along with viral fever, which has been rampant due to mosquito-borne epidemics.

Due to the mosquito-borne epidemic, patients have also been admitted under treatment in the civil hospital’s indoor department. Thus, there is a gradual increase in various epidemics during the rainy season in Patan.
