Training was given so that the police can treat the injured at the time of the accident.
Death rates from heart attacks have increased at younger ages. A person walking on the road suddenly collapses due to a heart attack and a bystander calls 108, but it takes 05 to 10 minutes for an ambulance to arrive, during which time the patient dies if blood does not reach the brain. CPR is known as first aid to prevent such incidents from happening.
A CPR training was organized at the Medical College of Porbandar for the purpose that the police can give immediate first aid to such patients when the police are standing at the point, or on patrol, in constant contact with the public, and expert doctors trained the police on CPR by showing a demo.
In which more than 600 policemen from SP, DySP to constables have been trained in CPR. Now, if someone has a heart attack on the road, the police will act as a nurse and give first aid and try their best to save the patient’s life.
