Due to the threat of Cyclone Biporjoy, the Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rains and strong winds for the next four days. Regarding this, the Rajkot district administration is working on alert mode and following the heavy rains, instructions have been issued by the system for the citizens to take action.

Put on alert
All 108 ambulances of the district have been put on alert as per the instructions of the district collector in view of the cyclone forecast. The operators have been instructed to take all necessary measures such as adequate supply of oxygen, medicines and diesel.

  • Evacuate to safe place during rains, cyclones.
  • Take special care of pregnant mothers and newborns.
  • Do not frequent unfamiliar roads or areas during rain.
  • Do not travel in river, canal or dam area.
  • Residential in rural, urban areas rather than wadi areas.
  • Do not tie the animal.
  • Choose a safe place and stay on a roofed building to avoid lightning.
  • If the delivery of the expectant mother is in the near future, shift her to the nearest government hospital at the earliest.
  • In case of any emergency contact 108 service or Mamlatdar office without panic.
  • Keep the flashlight, mobile phone sufficiently charged.
  • Do not travel on unpaved, unknown roads during rains, cyclones.
  • Do not stand on trees or weak ground.
  • Do not visit dams, rivers, or beaches.
  • People in low-lying areas should stay in touch with the district administration.
  • Providing specific information to the district administration in case of emergency.
  • Don’t promote and stay away from false rumours.
  • Elderly, pregnant women, newborn babies should avoid traveling during rain or cyclone.
  • It is worth mentioning that Abhishek Thacker, Program Manager of 108 Seva said that we are committed with trained personnel to meet the cyclone situation and all kinds of advance preparations have been made.
