The Agriculture Department has estimated that 16.44 lakh hectares of land in North Gujarat will be sown in monsoon. 3421 hectares have been planted in the first week. Planting has started from Patan district in the current season. Last year, 2125 hectares were planted in the first week. This planting took place in Banaskantha and Patan districts.

According to the agriculture department, 3331 hectares of cotton and 90 hectares of fodder have been sown in Patan district in the first week in North Gujarat. In the remaining 4 districts, the counting figures will be available from the end of the current week. On the other hand, in the monsoon season. If we look at the status of the estimated 16,44,554 hectares of cultivation in G. district wise, the maximum is estimated to be planted in 6,08,666 hectares of land in B.Kantha district.

3,16,683 hectares of Patan, 2,86,745 hectares of Mehsana, 2,31,231 hectares of Sabarkantha and 2,01,229 hectares of Aravalli are estimated to be planted. That is, 37% of the total plantation will be in B. Kantha, 19.26% in Patan, 17.44% in Mehsana, 14.06% in Sabarkantha and 12.24% in Aravalli district.

The season will conclude with Divela in September
Monsoon season planting has started in North Gujarat with cotton planting in June. With the onset of monsoon, planting of paddy, millet, sorghum, maize, tuwer, mung bean, matha, urad, groundnut, sesame, soybean, vegetables and fodder will also begin. However, the monsoon planting will be completed at the end of September with the planting of dilwa at last. The monsoon planting season will last 18 weeks.
