Illegal constructions are continuously increasing in Ahmedabad city. Despite issuing stop notices by the estate department of the municipal corporation, illegal constructions are continued by the owners. Once the entire illegal construction is erected, action has to be taken to demolish it. BJP officials have instructed to set up a new demolition cell to stop illegal constructions as soon as they happen. As soon as the illegal construction takes place, the first notice will be given by the estate department of the zone and the information of this notice will have to be given to the demolition cell. On which the site will be inspected by this cell and if the construction is re-constructed, it will be demolished immediately.
Standing Committee Chairman Hitesh Barot said that instructions have been given to set up a new cell to stop illegal construction activities in the city. In which the first notice is given by the estate department when an illegal construction occurs. After giving the first notice, all the information has to be given to the new cell at the central office of the estate department. After the first notice, the employees of the new cell will inspect the site if any illegal construction is still going on and if it has been erected, action will be taken to demolish it.
On one hand, illegal constructions are being erected in Ahmedabad city and even when the illegal constructions are erected up to four floors, the officials and employees of the estate department do not work to demolish them. On the one hand, if demolition is to be done while construction is in progress, the rules show that there is a process of giving three notices. Questions have been raised as to how this new demolition cell will be set up if demolition cannot be done until the process of issuing notices is completed. There is a discussion behind setting up this cell so that the information about all the illegal constructions taking place in the zone is done from one place and its operation from one place.
In the standing committee meeting today, there was a discussion about the disposal of rain water. When the rain water is disposed, the garbage goes into the catch pit along with the drain. It has been done to prevent its waste and has been instructed to carry out work there. Advertisement boards were placed on electricity poles at various places in the city. An instruction was given to conduct a tender process to resume the revenue that was generating revenue to the Municipal Corporation system. A complaint was also made in the standing committee about the illegal construction going on in the common plot of Faisal Mohammadi Society in Paldi area. In some crematoriums in the city, a person with a BPL card is being asked to pay more for wood for cremation. So, instructions have been given to investigate this matter as well. It was also discussed that there were two Aadhaar card centers in Ahmedabad city for issuing Aadhaar card of people above 18 years of age, now it has increased to seven so that more facilities will be available to the people.
