In the guise of a mob, anti-social elements attacked the police and vandalized the officer’s car and Majewdi police post.

  • Crowds started gathering at the Dargah near Majewadi Gate from the evening itself, under the guise of which anti-socialists waved sticks.

The Dargah of Hazrat Roshansha Pir Bawa near Majewadi Gate in Junagadh received a demolition notice from the Manpa. Due to which a crowd of more than 2000 people gathered near the shrine. As the news spread, the crowd began to grow.

The police had made arrangements so that the situation does not worsen. However, late at night the mob became unruly. And started vandalizing vehicles including police, ST bus, PGVCL. Hence the police started using force. However, the mobs burnt motorcycles on the road. One DySP and four PSIs were injured in this incident.

Crowds started gathering near Majewadi Gate since evening. Especially following the demolition notice of the dargah, there was an uproar. Hence the police also arranged arrangements. However, the crowd later became unruly. And the windows of the ST bus passing on the road were broken. Due to which the passengers sitting in the bus were in a state of great fear and terror. And it is also being discussed that some passengers have been injured. As the police resorted to force to control the mob, the mob set fire to the bike on the road with soda bottles, stones.

The police post near Majewadi Gate was also attacked. And police vehicles were smashed. Among them DySP Hitesh Dhandalia, PSI Jashingbhai Rambhai Waja, PSI Kinjalben K. of B Division. Maru, PSI Narmdaben Ambalia and PSI Alpaben Dodia sustained injuries on head and face. There were also discussions about the police firing teargas shells following the incident.

The mob broke the windows of two power company vehicles near the PGVCL office inside Majewadi Gate. Amit Rameshbhai Vaghela, the driver of one of the vehicles, was also hit. However, he was not seriously injured.

People started gathering near the dargah from late afternoon. And as the crowd grew bigger, religious slogans also began to be heard. And later there was an incident of burning soda bottles, stones and bikes. There are also suspicions that this attack is a pre-planned conspiracy regarding the attack on police and ST bus.
