In the famous Gwalia Sweets located in Thalatej area of Ahmedabad, a case of cockroach has come out from the sambar of Dhonsa. On the day of the Rath Yatra, the young man went for dinner with his family in the evening at Gwalia Sweets located at Maple Tree in Ghatlodia area. A cockroach was found in the sambar of Mysore Masala Dosa. Complaining to the staff there, they immediately took back the goods. In this matter, they made a written demand from Gwalia Sweets. In which Gwalia Sweets emailed to acknowledge that we have made a mistake, we apologise. In this matter, the youth complained to the food department of the municipal corporation. However, the corporation has not yet taken action in this matter.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Food Department Head Dr. Bhavin Joshi said in a conversation with Divya Bhaskar, “I am investigating the complaint about cockroaches coming out of Gwalia Suites on social media. While North-West Zone Deputy Health Officer Dr. Mehul Acharya said that we have not received any complaint in this matter.
People’s health is compromised
The complainant is called and informed by the Food Department of the Municipal Corporation, but the Deputy Health Officer has no knowledge of the matter. From which it is seen that people’s health is compromised but the Deputy Health Officer level officer does not think it serious to pay attention to this matter.
The young man went to eat in a restaurant with his family
In many hotels and restaurants in Ahmedabad, the occurrence of insects in food is a frequent occurrence. Such incidents occur due to dirt in the kitchen. Then another case has happened. On the evening of the Rath Yatra, a young man named Jigarbhai Vaghwani went with his family to dine at the Gwalia restaurant at Maple Tree in Ghatlodia area of the city. They ordered other items including Mysore masala. Along with Mysore spices came sambar and chutney. They found a cockroach in Sambhar. When cockroaches came out of the food, they called the staff there and complained about the matter.
What did the owner of Gwalia Sweets say?
Deepak Sharma, the owner of Gwalia Sweets, said in a conversation with Divya Bhaskar that there was an incident where the food of a person who had eaten at Gwalia Sweets near Maple Tree was contaminated. We are very sorry for the incident and have apologized for it. We immediately contacted the person whose food had the bug and apologized to them in person.
The young man complained to the staff when the cockroach was coming out of the sambar (symbolic picture).
This is the first time we have had such an incident
He further said, “It is true that this incident happened and we have accepted it, we are not saying that such a thing never happened, we have accepted the incident that happened and apologized for it.” We also supported the Municipal Corporation when they came to collect samples. Till date such incident has not happened. This is the first time such an incident has occurred and we have immediately apologized to the customer.
When the cockroach came out I said – write me this matter on your letterpad
Jigarbhai said in a conversation with Divya Bhaskar that when we saw a cockroach in the sambhar, when we called the staff there and complained about it, they immediately took the sambhar back from us. Other diners also complained about the smell of the sauce. In the matter of which the cockroach came out, I requested him in writing to write me on your letterpad about this matter.
E-mailed me from head office
But they said no letterpad. Then they emailed me from their head office. In which it was stated by the general manager that we have made a mistake regarding the complaint that we have received that cockroaches have come out of the sambhar and the smell is coming from the sauce. We apologize from Gwalia Group.

He further said that in this matter they have also complained on Twitter along with the e-mail sent by Gwalia Sweets to the Municipal Corporation, Collector and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and what action will be taken by these departments?
