Due to heavy rain in Deogadhbaria taluka, Panam river was overflowing with new water. At that time, the truck which was filling sand in the river between Rama and Dahikot village got stuck in the middle. In which the young man who jumped into the river to save the trapped cleaner was also trapped. After a long time of 12 hours in the evening, Panchmahal NDRF team rescued both the youths.

A truck loaded with sand was coming out of the river at night in the stretch of Panam river passing between Rama village of Devgarh Baria taluk and Dahikot village of Panchmahal district. At that time, the truck got stuck in the middle of the river due to the sudden flow of water in the early morning. Half of the truck was submerged in water as the river water was flowing around the truck. Then the conductor of the truck was trapped in it.

Around 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning, the local villagers rushed to the spot after hearing that there was someone in the truck. One of the young men jumped into the river to save the cleaner but the young man also started drowning in the current. That young man also managed to reach the truck and saved his life. The incident was also reported to the police.

Two teams came to watch the spectacle

After reporting the incident to Devgarh Baria Municipality, the municipal fire staff and the team of Panchmahal reached the spot but both the teams appeared as if they had come to see the spectacle at the promenade.

Finally the Panchmahal NDRF team carried out the rescue operation after about 12 hours around 6 pm. After a lot of effort, the two youths managed to get out safely. Due to this incident, a large number of villagers from both the villages of Rama village and Dahikot village thronged the shore from morning till evening with the intention of saving these youths.
