Girishbhai Ukabhai Savalia (aged 45), living in Hapaliya Park near Ranuja Temple in Rajkot, committed suicide by drinking poison in a garden near his house yesterday, causing grief in the family. On being informed of the incident, the police shifted the dead body for postmortem and conducted an investigation to find out the cause of suicide. In the preliminary inquiry of the police, the family of the deceased said that he was diagnosed with colon cancer and was undergoing treatment. While it is suspected that he committed suicide due to cancer, Ajidem police have conducted a post-mortem on the dead body and are conducting further investigation.

Bike fell asleep and died
Dhirubhai, who lives in Pambhar Itala village of Lodhika taluk of Rajkot district, went to Sarpadad yesterday morning with a bike. While he was returning at 9 am, he was seriously injured when his bike slipped suddenly near Kerala village ahead of Sarpadad. Passers-by rushed him to Rajkot Civil Hospital where Dhirubhai succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Deceased Dhirubhai was doing agricultural work. He has three sons among his children. Sons lost their father’s umbrella and the family was in mourning. The Paddhari police, who came to know about the incident, moved the dead body for postmortem and took further action.

Suffocated during treatment
Pooja Santoshkumar Pal (32), a native of Uttar Pradesh, residing at Khodiyarnagar near Nandahole, Rajkot city, set herself ablaze by sprinkling kerosene at her house on 22.05.2023. After Pooja took this step, Arthur was admitted to the Burns Ward of the Civil Hospital and died during the treatment. Puja has one son and one daughter. She got married to Santoshkumar 13 years ago. Her husband is a dyer. Unable to find the cause of suicide, the police have shifted the body for post-mortem and conducted further investigation.

Attempted suicide by hanging
​​​​​​​Dilabhai Mahamadbhai Mednani (aged 50) living at Bajrangwadi Street No.15 corner on Rajkot Jamnagar Road was at his home and due to unexplained reasons he tried to commit suicide by hanging himself with a rope in the direction of a fan. The civil outpost staff informed the Gandhigram police about the incident. Dilabhai drives a rickshaw to support the family and has three daughters and one son. The family is also said to be unaware of the incident.

A young man named Munja Jagdish Dabhi (age 23), working in a tea hotel called Bajrang Hotel in Phulchab Chowk, Rajkot city and living behind the old marketing yard, committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. On being informed about the incident, B Division police shifted the dead body for postmortem and conducted further investigation to find out the exact cause of suicide.
