Known as textile and diamond city, Surat is now becoming known as the organ donor city in the country. Another organ donation from Surat has been done by Donate Life organization from Kiran Hospital. Janish Vallabhbhai Gujarati who fell from the bridge was declared brain dead. Hence, his family has shown a new direction to the society by donating Janish’s kidney, liver and eyes, giving new life to five persons and spreading the fragrance of humanity.

Jumped into Tapi River from Jilani Bridge
Originally from Mandwina in Bhavnagar and currently living in Singanpore Adarsh ​​Society, Janish was working as a manager in a diamond company in Katargam. Janish went on duty at 7.30 am on June 7. At 9.30 in the morning he said to the employee with him, I am coming now after breakfast. After half an hour Janish did not return from breakfast, the vicinity was searched, but he was not found. After which an unknown person calling on his mobile picked up Janish’s phone and said that the brother who is calling, that brother has just jumped into the Tapi river from the Jilani bridge.

Rescued but suffered brain haemorrhage
Fire brigade personnel and nearby fisherman brothers took him out and admitted him to Smeer Hospital for immediate treatment. A brain haemorrhage was diagnosed on a diagnostic CT scan. The family admitted him to Kiran Hospital for further treatment, where Jenishan was declared dead yesterday.

The family consented to organ donation
The Donate Life team explained the entire process of organ donation and its importance to Janish’s family. Janish’s father Vallabhbhai and maternal uncle Arvindbhai said, “We used to read organ donation news in newspapers often. Also, while watching Donate Life’s organ donation videos on YouTube channel and Facebook, we felt that this is a very socially useful work. After death, the body has to become ashes, instead of that organ donation gives a new life to the patients of organ failure.

Father is also a jeweler
He further said that today our son is branded, you donate his organs. We will feel that our son is living in this world with his organ donation. So it was with a heavy heart that he consented to the organ donation of his branded son. Janish’s family consists of his father Vallabhbhai who works as a jeweler at Shiva Impex, mother Bhavnaben, sister Jinal and Sheetal who is married. Brother Nikhil is working in Australia.

Organ donation gave new life to five
With the consent of the family, the liver and kidney were allocated to Kiran Hospital in Surat. A donated kidney has been transplanted in a 37-year-old woman resident of Ahmedabad, another kidney has been transplanted in a 32-year-old man living in Surat, a liver transplant has been done in a 39-year-old man living in Navsari at Kiran Hospital in Surat. The donated eyes will be transplanted in two needy patients at Kiran Hospital.

1042 people from home and abroad got a new life
A total of 1135 organs and tissues have been donated by Donate Life from Surat and South Gujarat. In which 470 kidneys, 202 livers, 46 hearts, 36 lungs, 8 pancreases, 4 hands, 1 small intestine and 368 eyes have been donated, a total of 1042 persons from the country and abroad have been successfully given a new life and a new vision.
