In Mehsana district, 799 primary teachers who were recruited as teaching assistants for five years on fixed salary from 2007 to 2010 are being absorbed on full salary after two years on the vacant post due to retirement. Out of which the order of full salary of 273 primary teachers has been made by the order of the court case, while the preparation of including the remaining 526 teachers in full salary has been carried out by the district education department.
A circular has been issued to all the District Primary Education Officers to accommodate teaching assistants in a phased manner as per the provision made by the Education Department to accommodate the vacant posts against the retirement of primary teachers in that year under the regular pay scale. In which many teachers filed court cases and petitions due to not being included in the regular salary scale on the vacant posts of retired teachers. Some of which have been ruled in favor of teachers.
So, in some High Courts, in case of pending petitions, it was asked to reduce the unnecessary financial burden as per the rules. In the judgment of such a court case, 273 primary teachers in Mehsana district have been absorbed in the last year or so on full salary on the vacant posts of teachers who retired after two years of service. Apart from this, all such teachers have been suggested to be absorbed in the vacant posts due to retirement and the District Primary Education Officer’s office is currently undertaking an exercise to absorb the remaining 526 teachers on full salary. Due to this action of the government, such teachers will get a big benefit in salary.
Arrears of inclusion period etc. will get benefit
Pvt. Sources in the education office said that usually these teachers have received full salary after 5 years of employment as teaching assistants. Now after two years of commencement of his employment, he will get the benefit of arrears etc. of the period of inclusion in the vacant post, as he will be included in full pay on priority basis.
