Mehsana district health system conducted the campaign under COTPA act 2003. In which under The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 or COTPA, 2003, COTPA 2003 checking was conducted in the area around Para School in Mehsana city and in the shop in Indira Nagar area, in which 7 cases were made and fined 850 rupees in section 6 b. The system fined 7 businessmen who were caught selling tobacco cigarettes near Para and Indira Nagar schools.

Under the National Tobacco Control Programme, a task force cell is functioning under the guidance of the Chief District Health Officer in Mehsana district for unauthorized sale of tobacco or tobacco products and related regulation. For the purpose of implementation, surprise checking and red operations were done by the task force near the school.

The health department along with the local police department collected a total of Rs. 1450 from the shopkeepers under the COTPA act 2003 in the shops within 100 meter radius of the school as per section no. 4 and 6 a and b. A fine was levied.
