In Sabarkantha district, 6 inches of rain was recorded in 12 hours in Talod Panthak while Meghraja was batting stormy. Rivers, canals, lakes were flooded due to rain. When 8000 cusecs of water was released from Gorthia Dam, villages including Mohanpura, Kathwara were put on high alert. When the lake near Motisari burst, water entered Chhatrisa village. In which 25 families were evacuated and shifted to safety. In Idar taluka too, 14 buffaloes got stressed in the water flow in Wagah near Netramali during heavy rains. However, after informing the Eider Fire Brigade team, the team rushed to the spot and rescued the five buffaloes that were lying in the water. Even in Himmatnagar Panthak, water-bombing was seen in many societies on Berana Road after more than three inches of rain.
In Sabarkantha Raidra form of Megharaja was seen
In Sabarkantha district, there has been torrential rain with lightning strikes amid black dibang clouds. At that time, more than 3 inches of rain fell during the day in the diocese including Himmatnagar. Many societies including Yashvi Bungalows, Sakar Bungalows, Karnavani Society, Umiyanagar on Berana Road in Himmatnagar city were flooded. People’s life was affected due to heavy rains. Due to the continuous rains, many cases of water wells getting stuck were also revealed. Nikunj Society in Sahakari Gene area of Himmatnagar, Umiya Vijay Society of Mahaveernagar and other societies suffered heavy losses due to waterlogging on the roads of the local residents and motorists. Raidra form of Megharaja has been seen. At that time due to torrential rain, the fields of villages including Kadoli, Rangpur, Prampur were flooded. Due to waterlogging in Motipura area too, vehicle drivers suffered a lot. The pre-monsoon performance of the system was exposed due to all the gaps and rainwater filling.
6 inches of rain in 12 hours
Torrential rains lashed the city along with universal water-bombing along with the rural areas of Talod taluka. In the last 12 years, nearly 6 inches of rain had flooded all the roads in Talod city and the houses of local people were inundated due to inundation in the areas behind Chandraprabhu Society, Kalalali Chali, Market Yard in the low-lying areas. Kumar School in Talod, primary school in Shantinagar area were also flooded due to torrential rain. Talod GEB’s office was also waterlogged, so the water was pumped out of the office by motor. Motorists had to suffer a lot as the main roads of Talod city as well as the public roads of Talod village were filled with half a foot of water.
Death of cattle due to electrocution
In Sultanpur village of Talod taluk, two calves tied up in the courtyard of Sanjaybhai Bakorbhai Patel’s house died on the spot due to lightning. When Desai Ramjibhai Bhalabhai’s buffalo died due to lightning in Gora village. Due to heavy rains, the fields of Talod Taluk were turned into bats. As many as five houses and walls collapsed in Panapur and Doltabad. Due to the malfunctioning of the railway overbridge, several vehicles were lost due to waterlogging on the Talod to Mahial Road, which had been diverted. Due to heavy rains, academic work was stopped in the educational institutions of Talod Panthak. Apart from this, when the lake near Mottisari burst, water entered Chhatrisa village and more than 25 families were shifted to a safe place by the system.
Meghraj’s stormy batting starts
As Meghraj’s stormy battering started in Eider and Wadali city from early morning, about 6 inches of rain fell in Eider and 2 inches in Wadali. Due to which the rivers and canals of the city and rural areas were flooded. Torrential rains created a water-bomb-like situation in Eder town and flooded the low-lying areas. From Eder Tricolor Circle to Satyam Char Road and Valasana Road in the city, scenes of traffic jams were created due to knee-deep rainwater and the impact on public life was seen due to heavy rain. Behind Netramali village in Eder, a rain water trough passes through Devgarh Kampa. At that time due to heavy rain, cows and buffaloes of the cattle breeder got trapped in Wagah due to which the Eder fire department was informed about this, the Eder fire team reached the spot, the firemen descended into the deep rainwater with a rope and rescued seven cows and buffaloes of the cattle breeder. The cattle breeder who was rescued breathed a sigh of relief and applauded the work of the fire department.
500 cusecs of water was released from Khedwa Dam
Farms were flooded due to torrential rains in KhedBrahma Panthak. As 500 cusecs of water was released from the Khedwa dam due to heavy rains in the uplands, the villagers in Khedwa, Bordi, Padhara, Basol, Paroya, Nawanana, Jagannathpura, Rodhra, Valran, Vartol, Bhutia, Sheetol were urged to be careful. Even in KhedBrahma city, Harnao was flooded in the rains. Farmers were happy due to continuous rain.
A newly constructed veranda in Majra village collapsed
People’s life was affected due to heavy rains in the provincial parish as well. In Boria, Sitwara due to heavy rain, water entered three houses filling the public roads and ponds. Though the water was collected throughout the night but the water did not decrease, the water was brought out with the help of the people by bringing fire fighters. In Majra village of Prantij taluka, a newly constructed veranda collapsed.
8000 cusecs of water was released in Gorthia reservoir of Talod
Due to high rainfall in the upper basin areas, water inflow has been recorded in the dam areas. Due to which the water income increased in Gorthia Dam of Talod Taluk and the water level is continuously increasing. So that 8000 cusecs of water from the dam has been released in the river in the afternoon to maintain the rule level by the irrigation department. In this regard, the administrative system has requested the people of Mohanpura, Kathwara, Warwara, Motachekhla, Ratanpur, Lawari, Antroli, Surpur, Jethajina Muwada, Vastajina Muwada, Tajpura, Harsol, etc. villages of Talod taluka to be alerted.
15000 cusecs water revenue in Dharoi Dam
Sources of the Irrigation Department said that due to the inflow of 15000 cusecs of water in the Dharoi Reservoir Dam, which has brought life to Sabarkantha and Mehsana districts due to heavy rains, the level of the Dharoi Reservoir Dam has now reached 612.
