- 323 Cases Of Conjunctivitis In Patan District, Health Department Takes Preventive Measures, No Need To Panic As It Is Not A Fatal Disease

Viral conjunctivitis, which in simple language is called eyesore, is spreading in many parts of the state. Patients of this disease are being diagnosed everyday. As a result of which preventive measures are being taken by the Patan district health system. So far 323 cases have been reported.
Since this disease is contagious, its spread is fast, although doctors are advising that there is no need to panic as it is not a fatal disease. As a precautionary measure, instructions have been given to start survey operations in the district and reporting of cases.
Along with this, the public has been appealed that if they experience symptoms like red eyes, itching, watery eyes, pain, they should immediately contact the nearest health centers and seek treatment. If such a case is reported in a house, it is imperative that other members of the house maintain distance from the disease as it is contagious. It is also essential that the patient uses glasses.
Disease prevention measures are being taken by the health department for cases of conjunctivitis in Patan district. Like, eye drops are distributed to the found cases. And their infection is explained by the health department to prevent others, there is sufficient stock of eye drops in the district, survey of conjunctivitis is done by district health team (RBSK) going to every school, health education work is being done by SBCC teams working in the district, so far 323 cases of conjunctivitis have been found in the district.
