The fruit market of the district has been depressed for the last one week. Because there was not enough harvest and not enough goods were coming from where the goods were coming from, now the price of fruits has seen a skyrocketing 30 percent increase. Thus, fruits are becoming expensive for people even in this month.

Around more than 50 traders are involved in this business in Surendranagar, Wadwan urban area. In which fruits are brought for sale from places like Ahmedabad, Botad, Rajkot, Gondal, Bhavnagar in urban areas. Apart from this, fruits are also coming from Ahmedabad’s Naroda Vijayamil Fruit Market.

But for the last 7 days, the goods of fruits including apple, pomegranate, banana, mausambi, orange, papaya, kiwi, pineapple are not coming from above. Regarding this, traders including Rameshwar township fruit owner Kishorebhai Nathabhai Kukdia said that at present the goods are not coming from above due to reasons including rain. Due to which the demand has also decreased. The prices of various fruits are also seeing an increase of about 30 percent due to shortage of goods.
