Gajendrasinh alias Sono Shankarsinh Thakur, the wanted accused in the controversial 2009 case of abducting and killing a man named Chanabhai Jasediya over a land dispute in Anandpar village of Kalavad in Jamnagar district, was reported to be living in Agra. Then, under the guidance of Rajkot Village Police Chief Jaipal Singh Rathore, LCB PI V.V. Odedara and PSI R.K. Gohil’s team turned a rickshaw driver and chased the accused Gajendra Singh for two consecutive days and finally caught him from an ashram near Tajnagar in Agra.

The arrested wanted accused Gajendrasinh Thakur was living in Agra under the name of Sanju Sisodia to avoid police capture. He had also created an Aadhaar card in this name. The police also had a lot of difficulty in distinguishing the face of the accused from 2009 and the present. Gajendra Singh kidnapped the deceased in a land dispute and took a betel nut of seven lakh rupees from the nephew of the deceased Chanabhai’s family to write the document.

However, Gajendra Singh did not believe Chanabhai to write the land deed, and later Gajendra Singh and his friends took the body of the deceased to Valsad in an esteemed car and threw it in the Tapi river. After 6 months, when Sagarit Karan Mer of Gajendra Singh was caught, he confessed and this murder mystery was resolved.

Bhurabhai gave his land to his brothers
Chanabhai, the victim of the murder, and his two brothers owned 115 bigha of joint land in Anandpar village of Kalavad. Chanabhai’s brother Bhurabhai Jasediya was going to the village of Pierre Naranka with his wife and children due to a rift in their married life. Later Bhurabhai’s son Jivaraj and Babu came to live in Rajkot. Meanwhile, Bhurabhai Jesdia sold the land belonging to his share to his two brothers Chanabhai and Makanbhai.

Case filed against uncle to get share in land
Bhurabhai’s son Babu Jesdia filed a case in court against his uncle Chanabhai Jesdia to get a share in his father’s land. In which Babu lost, hating him, along with his friends, he hatched a plan to kidnap uncle Chanabhai Jasdia and later killed him.

In this case of abduction and murder of Chanabhai Jasdia, the Kalavad police arrested Babu Jasdia, Dharmesh Sangani, Mulu Mer, Chhagan Jasdia, Magan Sangani, Paresh Sangani and Karan alias Polo Mer at that time. While Gajendrasinh Thakur, who took the betel nut in this crime, was on the run for 14 years after beating the police. The police have taken legal action after arresting him today.
