- Cattle were killed in Biporjoy cyclone
1072 cattle of 572 farmers died in Biporjoy cyclone in Banaskantha district. Out of which 572 farmers have been paid assistance of 1,44,82,000 for 704 cattle. Due to Cyclone Biporjoy, many talukas of Banaskantha district suffered major damage. In which the leaves of some houses were blown away and some animals died due to the storm. In which 1072 cattle died in the storm within the district.
In which the district animal husbandry officer J.P. Majethia said that the district animal husbandry department has visited the farms of 572 farmers and paid a total of 1 crore 44 lakh 82 thousand aid to 704 dead animals. As per the amount of aid determined by the state government, Rs. For this, 1 lakh 65 thousand rupees, 58 lakh 72 thousand rupees for 367 animals like non-dairy small pada-padi, heifers, donkeys, and 75 thousand rupees for three non-dairy big horses, camels, bulls have been deposited directly in the account of the livestock keepers.
