For months, General Hospital fans have been urging the writers to finally wrap up the long-running storyline surrounding Drew’s shooting. After major revelations in Thursday’s episode, many viewers believe the arc may at last be heading toward its conclusion. Fans quickly took to social media to share their reactions.
Fans hope Drew’s shooting arc ends by February
The January 8 episode marked a turning point. Alongside a tense courtroom scene, the show confirmed that Willow was the one who shot Drew.
After Drew delivered damaging testimony, Alexis called Willow to the stand in an attempt to strengthen their case. Despite a tough cross-examination by Justine, Willow remained calm. She denied stealing Edward’s gun, denied shooting Drew, and admitted that she loved him deeply. At first, her testimony appeared convincing enough to sway the jury.
However, flashbacks later revealed that Willow was, in fact, guilty, exposing her courtroom testimony as a lie. This twist led many fans to believe that the storyline may finally be nearing its end.
One fan posted on the show’s Facebook page, writing: “FINALLY the storyline catches up to what we’ve all known for MONTHS… Willow. Shot. Drew!!! And not in a moment of passion or due to a split personality… but PREMEDITATED!”
They added, “GH better keep this story moving and hopefully end it BEFORE February sweeps. Fans can’t take much more of this.”
Other viewers echoed the sentiment. One wrote, “I agree—she should’ve followed up with ‘including shooting your husband?!’” Another commented, “At least viewers finally know the truth, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they still drag it out.”
A third fan said, “Now send her to prison and take Drew with her. I knew it all along.” Another added, “Willow lied completely on that stand.”
Although the revelation represents major progress, it doesn’t guarantee an immediate conclusion. Still, many fans see it as the momentum they’ve been waiting for after months of frustration.
