“Alligator Resurfaces: A 4K UHD Blu-ray Dive into Cult Creature Features Unleashes in 2024”

In a thrilling cinematic resurgence, 101 Films introduces the cult classic creature feature, “Alligator,” on 4K UHD. Accompanied by the TV cut and the 1991 sequel, “Alligator II: The Mutation,” this exclusive release is part of the 101 Films Black Label. Boasting a collection of interviews with the cast and crew, this limited-edition offering comes packaged in a rigid box adorned with brand-new artwork. Additionally, it includes a limited-edition booklet featuring fresh insights into the films.

“Alligator,” a beloved B-movie gem, continues to captivate audiences as a standout creation from the post-70s creature feature era. Beyond its reptilian thrills, the film offers unexpected depth and a pointed critique of environmental inaction—a theme still relevant today. Its lesser-known sequel, “Alligator II: The Mutation,” follows suit with a comedic and self-aware tone, embodying the essence of B-movie charm.

Directed by Lewis Teague (Cujo) and penned by John Sayles (The Howling), this unstoppable thriller follows a family’s ill-fated decision to flush their pet baby alligator down the toilet. Simultaneously, Slade Laboratories conducts clandestine experiments with animals, discarding them into the sewer. The alligator, left to fend for itself, grows by feasting on the disposed creatures. Twelve years later, after a series of mysterious murders, David Madison (Robert Forster, Jackie Brown) embarks on a quest to uncover the identity of the creature responsible.

Mark your calendars for the release of the “Alligator” and “Alligator II: The Mutation” 4K UHD Blu-ray set on January 29, 2024.
