Vegetable Prices Up: Not Only Tomatoes, Prices Of Many Vegetables Skyrocketed, Potato-onion-cabbage Inflation Made Us Cry

Vegetable Prices Hike: Rising tomato prices have been in the news for several days now, but now more vegetables are also taking a hit. In many states of the country, the prices of common to special vegetables have become very expensive and the general public does not understand how to bear the cost of this current. In many states even everyday vegetables are available at such high prices that it has become a problem for people to cook, which vegetable to cook – which does not break the budget.

Vegetable prices are sky high in Patna

In Patna, the capital of Bihar, cabbage and cabbage-like vegetables are available at a price of Rs 60 per kg. Not only this, now states like West Bengal and Odisha are also facing price hike of vegetables. According to a report by Times of India, prices of vegetables have been increasing in Patna since the beginning of May. While tomato prices have seen the biggest jump, other vegetables are also increasing in price. Prices of vegetables like cabbage to okra have almost doubled. Cabbage which was Rs 40 per kg in May is now Rs 60 per kg, cauliflower has increased from Rs 30-40 per kg to Rs 60 per kg. Potato and onion prices have increased from Rs 20 per kg in May to Rs 30-35 per kg in July.

Vegetables are also expensive in West Bengal

Other states include West Bengal where prices of vegetables and fruits are increasing. According to a PTI report, vegetable prices in West Bengal have gone up by 30-35 percent. A week ago green chillies which cost Rs. 150 per kg is now Rs. 300-350 per kg. On the other hand, tomatoes are being sold at Rs 130-150 per kg.

Odisha is also in bad condition

In Odisha, there has been a sharp rise in vegetable prices in the last 15 days. Tomato prices are Rs 140-160 per kg while green chillies are priced at Rs 200 per kg. Ginger has become more expensive and is Rs 300 per kg.

People are disturbed in Delhi

Even in Sufal stores in Delhi, the price of tomato is Rs 129 per kg and people here have reduced the purchase of this vegetable.

What is the condition of Uttar Pradesh?

Similarly, in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, the price of tomatoes has gone up to Rs 150 per kg. People who are disturbed by the rising prices of tomatoes appeal to the government to do something in this matter so that the common people can get relief and at least they can get daily food at a decent price.
