Vadilal Ice Cream: The shares of Vadilal Industries, a well-known ice-cream maker in Ahmedabad, have risen. Reports of an acquisition by Bain Capital have sent the company’s shares soaring. According to the Moneycontrol report, Bain Capital is considering merging Vadilal’s units into one unit. The deal is estimated to be worth around Rs 3000 crore. Arpwood had earlier offered to buy a stake in Vadilal but the stake sale was delayed due to a promoter dispute. The report also said that Vadilal Industries had sought approval from shareholders to buy the brand from the promoter. The stock has rallied over the past two business days amid reports of Vadilal being bought by Bain Capital. The stock closed at Rs 3027.35 at the end of the trading day today. On Monday, the stock touched a 52-week high of Rs 3,294.65 and ended the day at Rs 3,150.

Vadilal processes frozen fruits, vegetables and food items at its Dharampur unit in Valsad, Gujarat.
