Around 1.26 lakh youth trained in telecom technology will be employed in the current financial year, a top official of the Telecom Sector Skill Council said on Monday.
The Telecom Sector Skills Council (TSSC) has also announced the creation of a new training center for training at Kaushal The Skill University campus in Ahmedabad in collaboration with Finnish telecom gear maker Nokia. TSSC CEO Arvind Bali said at the launch event of the new center with Nokia, TSSC will train 1.26 lakh youth in this financial year and they will be employed by the industry.
COE (Center of Excellence) at ITI Kubernagar is setting up a skill lab to train candidates in 5G technology skills. The aim is to offer at least 70 per cent of learners a job within 4-6 weeks of completing the course. As many as 300 such candidates will benefit from the program in the first year of the project.

Nokia invested in infrastructure, equipment and training for the CoE as part of its corporate social responsibility programme. The center was inaugurated by Balwant Singh Rajput, Minister of Labour, Skill Development and Employment of Gujarat.
