Stock Market Today: On the last day of the week, the stock market is witnessing a bearish boom. Indian stock markets have opened at record highs amid bullish signs from global markets. Both Sensex and Nifty have managed to open at record highs today.
The Indian stock market opened at a new high in the first trading session of the July series. As it opened, the Sensex was trading at 64,259 points, up 340 points. So the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange opened at 19,076 points with a jump of 104 points. Bank Nifty also opened at new highs. Bank Nifty opened up 0.43 percent or 139 points.
At 09:16 hrs, the Sensex was up 357.70 points or 0.56% at 64,273.12 and the Nifty was up 99.50 points or 0.52% at 19,071.60. About 1696 stocks advanced, 513 stocks declined and 143 stocks remained unchanged.
Power Grid Corp, Asian Paints, Infosys, M&M and HDFC Bank were the top gainers on the Nifty, while Bajaj Auto, HDFC Life, Apollo Hospitals, Eicher Motors and Nestle India were the top losers.
Sectorol update
In today’s business, stocks of sectors like banking, IT, auto, FFMCG, energy, pharma healthcare, consumer durables are seeing a boom. Small cap and mid cap stocks are also seeing a boom. Nifty IT is trading with a speed of 1.08 percent. AMC stocks are seeing a rally in the market due to Sebi not fixing the fees in mutual funds.

There are many shares in the news today. A block deal has been done in Bharti Airtel before the market opens. So HDFC Bank and HDFC are going to merge with each other from July 1. In such a situation, the board meeting of both the companies is going to be held after the market closes in which the merger will be approved. Shares of ICICI Securities are also in the news as the stock is set to delist. Shareholders of ICICI Securities will get shares of ICICI Bank. BPCL is in the news because the company’s Rs. 18,000 crore rights issue to come.
US market
US equity futures were little changed on Thursday evening. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 26 points, or 0.08 percent. S&P 500 futures closed down 0.03 percent. Nasdaq 100 futures closed flat. In the regular market, the Dow closed up about 270 points, or 0.8 percent. While the S&P 500 index was up about 0.5 percent. At the same time, the Nasdaq Composite closed flat.
European market
European equity markets closed marginally higher on Thursday, with the pan-European Stoxx 600 index ending the day up 0.1 percent, thanks to strong earnings from H&M, which sent retail shares up 1.8 percent. While travel and leisure stocks recorded a decline of 0.7 percent. The FTSE closed down 0.38 percent at 7471 points. The DAX closed down 0.01 percent at 15,946 points.
