Stock Market Today: Amid mixed global cues, the Indian stock market opened on a bullish note today. The hat-trick of declines in the last three days has come to a break today and the Indian stock market is witnessing a surge. Today, along with auto stocks, auto ancillary stocks have seen a lot of movement. The stock market is getting support from these stocks today.

At 09:16 hrs, the Sensex was up 223.78 points or 0.36% at 63,193.78 and the Nifty was up 68.80 points or 0.37% at 18,760. About 1553 stocks advanced, 463 stocks declined and 98 stocks remained unchanged.

HDFC Life, Adani Enterprises, Nestle India, Asian Paints and Coal India were the top gainers on the Nifty, while Hero MotoCorp, Titan Company, IndusInd Bank, HCL Technologies and Ciplan were the top losers.

Sensex-Nifty share position

Today the market is bullish and because of that the Sensex is seeing only a rise. 21 out of 30 Sensex stocks are bullish, trading in the green. At the same time, the business is seen with decline in 9 stocks. On the other hand, if we talk about Nifty, 43 out of 50 stocks are trading with bullishness and 7 stocks are registering decline.

Status of Nifty Sectoral Index

In the Nifty, except for the pharma and consumer durables sectors, all other sectoral indices are trading in the green. A decrease of 0.12 percent in the pharma sector and 0.07 percent in the consumer durables sector is being seen. In the growing sector, realty stocks rose by 1.16 percent. Metal sector rose 0.82 percent and media shares traded with 0.65 percent gain.

American market moves

US markets closed with losses yesterday. The Nasdaq was down more than 1 percent. US markets saw pressure yesterday, with the Nasdaq closing down 1.16 percent. The Nasdaq closed below 13,500 for a fourth consecutive day. The Dow Jones and the S&P500 index also closed in the red. The S&P 500 closed down 2.7 percent from its June 16 high in yesterday’s trade. The S&P500 is up 3.56 percent so far in June. On the other hand, Berkshire Hathaway reduced stake in BYD. Berkshire Hathaway sold shares in BYD worth $86.3 million. BYD is a Chinese manufacturer of EV vehicles.

Asian market moves

Asian markets are mixed. SGX Nifty is jumping 22 points. At the same time, Nikkei is seen around 32443.83 with about 0.78 percent weakness. Straight times indicated an increase of 0.44 percent. At the same time, the Taiwan market is trading at 16996.71 with a decrease of 0.35 percent. While the Hang Seng is seen at the level of 19037.20 with an increase of 1.29 percent. At the same time, Kospi is witnessing a weakness of 0.11 percent. While the Shanghai Composite showed a growth of 0.39 percent at the level of 3162.30.

Statistics of FII and DII

On June 26, foreign institutional investors in the Indian markets poured Rs. 409.43 crores were sold. Local institutional investors on the day made Rs. 250.12 crore was purchased.

Markets closed flat on June 26

Indian benchmark indices were little changed in a volatile trading session on June 26. The Sensex closed down 9.37 points at 62970. While the Nifty closed at 18691.20 with a jump of 25.70 points or 0.14 percent. Yesterday, the market opened with marginal gains amid mixed global cues but witnessed a dip during the day. However, buying in metal, auto, pharma and FMCG stocks helped par the intraday losses. NTPC, Reliance Industries, TCS, Power Grid Corporation and Coal India were the top losers on the Nifty. While Cipla, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Enterprises, Tata Consumer Products and Divis Laboratories were the top gainers in the Nifty. On the sectoral front, auto and pharma closed with gains of 1 percent each, while FMCG and metal indices gained 0.5 percent. The BSE midcap index rose 1 percent and the smallcap index rose 0.7 percent.
