Stock Market Closing 3rd July 2023 Sensex Up 487 Points IT Pharma Drag Market Cap Near 300 Lakh Crore

Stock Market Closing, 3^rd July, 2023: History was made in the Indian stock market on the first business day of the week. Sensex closed above 65 thousand for the first time. Today, the stock market rallied due to investor buying and good manufacturing PMI numbers. Nifty also closed at historical levels. After today’s increase, investor wealth has risen to a new high of Rs 298.21 lakh crore. All sectors closed in green zone today.

The market started with a bullish start this morning and the trend continued throughout the day. Today the Indian stock market index rose 486.49 points to close at 65,205.05 points and the Nifty rose 135.5 points to close at 19322.55 points. Grasim Industries, ITC, BPCL, Reliance Industries and Bajaj Finance were the Nifty’s top gainers, while Bajaja Auto, Powergrid, Sun Pharma, Cipla and Maruti Suzuki were the top losers.

Sectorol update

The biggest highlight of today’s trade has been that Nifty Bank also managed to cross 45,000 for the first time and close above it. Bank Nifty closed up 410 points or 0.92 percent at 45,158 points. Apart from this, stocks of FMCG, Energy, Metals, Infra, Media, Real Estate sectors closed higher. While shares of auto, IT, pharma, healthcare, consumer durables sectors closed lower. Nifty’s mid-cap and small-cap indices also closed sharply higher. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 15 rose and 15 closed with losses. While out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 24 stocks closed in green mark and 26 in red mark.

Today 1910 shares gained, 1688 shares declined and 138 shares were unchanged. Metal, Oil & Gas, FMCG, PSU Bank sectors gained 1 to 3 percent, while IT and Pharma declined up to 1 percent. The BSE midcap index gained 0.3 percent and the smallcap index gained 0.5 percent.

On Friday the market cap of BSE Rs. 296.46 lakh crore, which has increased to 298.21 lakh crore today. That means the wealth of investors has increased by 1.75 lakh crores.

There were signs of a bang opening in the stock market today right from the pre-opening. In the pre-opening of the market, Nifty touched a record high and Bank Nifty was also trading at a record high. Sensex opened 282.85 points higher at 65,001.41 and Nifty 81.30 points higher at 19,270.30 this morning.
