Stock Market Closing, 17th July, 2023: The first business day of the week was a great bullish one for the Indian stock market. The market started with a bullish start in the morning and this trend continued throughout the day. Sensex and Nifty closed at new record highs today too. The market is getting support due to investor buying, which is touching new highs on a daily basis. Today all the sectors were closed in the green mark. Investors’ wealth has increased to 303.60 lakh crores. Investors’ wealth rose to Rs 298.57 lakh crore on Friday, the last business day of last week. Investors’ wealth has increased by 5 lakh crores in a single business day.
The Indian stock market index Sensex rose 529.03 points to 66,589.93 points and Nifty rose 156.65 points to close at a new record high of 19,721.15 points. Bank Nifty also rose 69.020 points to close at 45,509.50 points while Sensex closed with a jump of 502.01 points on Friday. Sensex has gained 1000 points in two business sessions.

The cause of the boom in the stock market
The Indian stock market once again closed at a record high on the first business day of the week due to buying in banking stocks. Bank Nifty surged around 700 points today due to buying in banking stocks. Today 2013 shares advanced, 1559 shares declined and 174 shares remained unchanged. Out of 30 Sensex shares, 18 gained and 12 declined. While 31 out of 50 shares of Nifty closed with increase and 19 shares with decrease.
Nifty’s rising – trending stocks
State Bank of India, Dow, Reddy’s Lab, Wipro, Grasim Industries and HDFC Bank were the top gainers on the Nifty. While Hero Moto Corp, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and JSW Steel Nifty were the performing shares. The BSE midcap index gained 0.3 percent and the smallcap index gained 1 percent.
How did today start?
Today’s trading started on a strong note with the NSE Nifty opening 47.65 points higher at a record high of 19,612.15. BSE’s Sensex also opened at 66,148.18 with an increase of 87.28 points or 0.13 percent.
