PIB Fact Check: The Customer’s India Post Payments Bank Account Will Be Blocked Within 24 Hrs If Their PAN Card Is Not Updated

PIB Fact Check: Many India Post Payments Bank customers may be getting messages claiming that their accounts have been blocked because their PAN card has not been updated. A link is also provided along with the message where users can update their PAN card details.

However, it has come to light that this is a scam by criminals to get the private and financial information of users and defraud them. Is this statement true or false? To find out, the fact check wing of the central government agency Press Information Bureau (PIB) investigated this claim. The fact check wing of PIB investigated the claim. PIB Fact Check has shared information in this regard on its official Twitter handle.

In a tweet, PIB’s fact check handle said that India Post never sends any such messages to its customers and they should not share their personal and bank details with anyone.

Earlier this month, India Post Payments Bank also advised its customers not to click on unknown links or share personal banking details with anyone. “We warn people not to fall prey to such scams,” the tweet said.
