Largest Ship Anchored At Mundra S Adani Ports, The Size Of 4 Football Fields

Mundra Ports: Adani Mundra Port, the flagship port of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), India’s largest integrated logistics utility and part of the diversified Adani Group, Adani Ports has achieved a significant milestone by berthing a 399 meter long and 54 meter wide vessel.

Adani Ports at Mundra, Gujarat, one of India’s busiest commercial ports, has witnessed a proud historic event. MV MSC Hamburg, the longest ship ever anchored at Mundra Port. This gigantic ship is the length of 4 football fields. Coincidentally, this historic event took place when Geneva-based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Adani International Container Terminal Pvt. Li’s joint venture has completed 10 years.

What is the capacity of the ship?

MV MSC Hamburg anchoring adds another one to the series of records proving the operation and efficiency of Adani Mundra Port. Built in 2015, MV MSC Hamburg is a 15,908 TEU (containers) capacity vessel. She has a draft of 12 m, a length (LOA) of 399 m and a beam of 54 m. Adani Port has achieved a unique feat in the maritime transport sector by berthing the largest ship ever.

APSEZ set a cargo handling record with 339 MMT volume

Previously Singapore-registered APL Raffles Adani was the largest vessel to call at Mundra port and the largest container ship to berth at Indian ports. The specialty of Adani Port Mundra is that ships of capacity up to 21 meters in depth can be moored easily. In FY-23 (April 22-March 23), Adani Port and APSEZ set a cargo handling record of 339 MMT volume.
