Vodafone Idea 5G Launch Time: Currently, there are only 2 such telecom operators in India who have launched 5G networks in the country. Jio and Airtel have covered most of the country under 5G network. VI has not yet joined the race as the company has not been able to raise funds. Meanwhile, the company said in its annual FY23 report that it is in early talks with various network vendors regarding the 5G rollout. Along with this, device testing of the network is also going on with all the OEM companies.

What did Vodafone Idea chairman Ravinder Takkar say?

Vodafone Idea Chairman Ravinder Takkar said that the telecom company is committed to increase 4G coverage and launch 5G. He said the company will continue to invest in expanding 4G coverage and capacity, especially in its 17 priority circles. Ravinder Takkar further said that the company will launch 5G service soon after receiving funding.

When will 5G be launched?

VI said in the annual report that it is constantly looking for lenders and investors. Along with this, the work on 5G rollout is also going fast, which will help the company to get funding. VI said the company has set up select 5G clusters in Delhi and Pune where it is testing compatibility of available 5G handsets with select OEM companies. Once the funding is received by the company, people will soon start getting 5G services in metro cities.

Jio-Airtel to launch next generation service

Airtel and Jio launched 5G networks in the country last year. Because of this VI suffered a lot in terms of userbase. Reportedly, Jio and Airtel are working on launching the next gen service in the country by the end of this year. VI has not yet been able to launch 5G service and the company has spent around Rs. 20,000 crore has been unsuccessful in trying to raise it.
